Find me
In the evening, while looking at the bright orange sunset, I sighted a lone cloud in the vast sky. It stood proudly in the air, or maybe it was floating without hesitation, without thunder. As if it did not want to rain, despite its pride, the cloud looked tired. The rivers beneath it were dry, waiting for water to return and regain their glory.
I fell into deep thought: humans themselves often look happy. They smile, laugh with friends, but deep within, they are alone. Humans somehow know the harsh reality of loneliness, yet remain in denial. We make friends, create bonds, and share our lives, only to leave them behind—or be left behind—for a so-called better good, only to live alone in the end. A tragic end.
Roses bloom in winter too, but those are false blooms, as spring is yet to come. Then for whom do they open those beautiful red petals with their lovely fragrance? Have you ever thought about it? I have, and I think I know why.
When winter comes, they try to find themselves and bloom only for themselves, to survive the harsh winter alone. Humans too should find themselves when they are alone. Even when surrounded by many people, we should still try to discover who we truly are within.
While thinking about all these things, the sun set behind the horizon, and the dark night appeared. Stars, far from our Earth, began blinking—alone in the vast darkness of space. I told my heart:
Find me when you are upset with the world around you.
Find me when there is no one but me.
Find me in the most difficult time of your life.
Find me when everyone leaves you.
Find me when you realize you love me.
Find me when you and I are no longer alive, yet our memories remain—
between the trees we planted,
the flowers we sowed,
the grass we seeded,
the sky we once watched,
the moon we spoke to,
and the sun we tried to hide behind our fingers.
Find me.
